About
About Me
I am currently a Multimedia Marketing & Communications Specialist at Weill Cornell Medicine, where I create health-related video stories and other content on doctors, patients, new research and treatment.
My interest in journalism and content creation stems from my love of learning and writing about what is happening both right outside of my door and on the other side of the world. It provides me with numerous opportunities to meet people from diverse backgrounds and hear their stories.
A career in broadcast journalism allows me to combine my love for writing and reporting with my passion for public speaking and storytelling.
I am confident in my abilities to report, write, shoot and edit stories and produce digital newscasts. I am an extremely hard worker with an upbeat personality, optimistic outlook on life and exceptional people skills. I put all of my effort into each of my stories and do my absolute best to create engaging and informative content in a timely manner.
What I've Done
Formerly, I was an Associate Digital Producer and Multimedia Journalist for CBS New York’s digital streaming channel CBS News New York. I pitched stories, coordinated and conducted interviews, and filmed, wrote, edited, and tracked packages. In addition, I wrote anchor tosses, tags and teases, and I created and stacked rundowns. I also edited and tracked breaking new stories and assisted the web team in writing articles for cbsnews.com.
Before CBS NY, I was a Multimedia Journalist living in Roanoke, VA and working at WDBJ7 CBS, the most watched station in southwest and central Virginia.
I have a graduate degree from Columbia Journalism School and an undergraduate degree in English from Cornell University. I was a naturally curious child who wanted to learn as much as possible about the world around me, and, early on, journalism became my outlet to accomplish that.
During college, I interned for the CBS News program 48 Hours, where I researched and investigated crime and murder cases, aided in interviews of a murder suspect and defense attorneys, and worked with a team of six to write, edit and produce a news package.
I also interned for NBC4 Washington, where I shadowed reporters, wrote and edited news packages, and wrote articles for the website.
I reported internationally on crimes and culture at the Prague Post during my semester abroad in Prague.
